Bacolod: Enting's Special of Sagay

Not so long ago, Enting’s Special of Sagay branched out here in Dumaguete City. And I admit, I was a frequent customer because I was really a big fan of their food. But just last year, they closed down their branch here and focused on their two branches in Sagay and Bacolod City. So anyway, few days back, I had the chance to visit Bacolod City again so I never missed the chance to visit Enting’s Special of Sagay to indulge myself with my favorite nomnoms!

One of my favorite dishes at Enting’s Special of Sagay is their Sizzling Squid. And just by typing that, I am salivating right now! :p Anyway, their Sizzling Squid is really the best that I have tasted so far. The buttery sweet chili sauce is really mouth-watering and it really goes well with the tender squid. The dish is served on a hot plate and oh boy, it is heaven!

See the mouth-watering sauce? Nom. Wish I had more rice to wipe the sauce out from the sizzling plate. Apparently, I only limit myself to 2 cups and it wasn’t even enough! Lol.

Another favorite dish of mine is their Battered Chicken. Yes, you read it right. It’s battered and not buttered. You see, “batter” is a semi-liquid mixture of one or more flours combined with liquids such as water, milk or eggs used to prepare various foods. In this case, the chicken was dipped in a batter mixture before it was golden fried. The Battered Chicken really goes well with their “secret-original-special sauce”. 

I was really having a dilemma on whether to order Grilled Prawns or Scallops. Seafood is also their specialty, thus, their seafoods are guaranteed really fresh. When I saw  how humongous their prawns were, I decided to have them instead of the scallops. (Their fresh seafoods are displayed in a cold counter.)

These prawns are really big and fat. Lol.

I also ordered Kansi (no photo), which is a popular Ilonggo version of Bulalo and I first tried this soup at Enting's Special of Sagay when they still had their branch in Dumaguete City. The twist here is that Kansi has a pinch of sourness, which is why it’s like Bulalo and Sinigang mixed together, but Kansi is waaay better! The dish is really one heck of a cholesterol-filled goodness! Nom.

It isn’t everyday that I get to eat at Enting’s Special of Sagay, so I really took the chance of ordering my top choices. I was indeed very full after that wonderful meal at Enting’s Special of Sagay and what’s even better is that, for everything I ate, I only paid FREE THOUSAND! Yes, because I am awesome like that. Lol. ;-)
